  1. This book has the setting you would expect from a city. The time is probably in the late 1800's or early 1900's. The place is Naples, Italy, in a less wealthy part of the City, and at a Catholic Church in Naples, Italy. The mood is sad, but the people act happy, so it doesn't seem that sad. Even though they are very poor, the family in this book is still happy with what they have, even though it is not very much.

  2. This book takes place in the United States. It takes place from any time between 1892-1954 when Ellis island was the main immigration station for the US. The mood is happy because people just arrived in America, but the protagonist is very sad because his family is gone forever.

  3. The time of this book is in the late 1800s when most foreigners were coming to America. The book takes place in Naples, Italy a small poor city and in New York City in America. The mood of this book is pretty gloomy because it talks about how there are alot of shootings and crime, but at the same time it's also pretty happy because of the presents his mom gave to him and the "feast" they had.

  4. This book takes place at the beginning of the book in a classic looking Italian town. It takes place in a house that many people live in. It's not a very well kept house because the family is not wealthy. A couple blocks over from the house is a street with many shops and there are many children and parents running about. Geographically speaking, I imagine is very steep. At the ocean part of town there is a dock with boats. The book takes place in the early 1900's when many immigrants were migrating to other countrys. The mood of the book is sort of sad but the characters moods make the setting seem less gloomy.

  6. The beginning of this book took place in Napoli, Italy. It is in a very poor town, and I am assuming around the early 1900's. It isn't a very happy time, and everyone is very cautious of what goods they have. Not everyone wears shoes, and when you do receive a pair it is a big deal. Close to their house, which is shared with many relatives, are many little shops. The setting changed to America pretty early in the book when Dom sneaks on board a ship.
